143 passengers flew from London to Plovdiv airport

31-year old Vera Ivanova was the first passenger, who stepped on the ground of Plovdiv Airport after a flight of Irish airline Ryanair. She arrived from London to Plovdiv to visit her mother. She has been a sales manager in English firm working in the fitness industry for 5 years.

The first regular flight on the new line London - Plovdiv - London was on the 2nd of November 2010. The plane landed at the airport at 11.45 am. It carried 143 passengers. Shortly after at 13.30 pm Boeing flew to Britain with 186 passengers on board.  

During the ceremony at the airport a pine tree was planted. Two fire trucks met the plane with a water arc. There was a folklore program as well. Passengers were greeted with traditional bread and honey. Among the distinguished guests were regional governors, mayors, district mayors and representatives of Ryanair who are willing to help develop business and tourism in the South-Central region of Bulgaria.
